Asking Alexandria are a British metalcore band from York, North Yorkshire. Founded in 2008 when Ben Bruce (lead guitar) contacted his old companions upon returning to the UK after residing in Dubai. The current line-up of the group consists of Ben Bruce (lead guitar), Danny Worsnop (vocals), Cameron Liddell (rhythm guitar), Sam Bettley (bass guitar) and James Cassells (drums).
Inception and Stand Up and Scream (2008–2009)
Asking Alexandria have their roots in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, wherein guitarist Ben Bruce started a band and released one full-length album (titled The Irony of Your Perfection) with the group under the name Asking Alexandria. The band shortly afterwards broke-up and Bruce made a statement at a later date that the band known as Asking Alexandria from Dubai only had the name for about a month before leading to their disbandment, hence the band never embarked on a tour.
In 2008, Bruce moved back to the UK, leaving behind his former bandmates. However, Bruce had no plans on putting his musical career on hold and not long after the move he started fresh with new members, though deciding to carry on the name Asking Alexandria. Bruce has stated that he was the one that created this title, that he still liked it and the meaning/reason behind the name still remained, and therefore decided to continue it in the new project. He also made an emphasised statement in the same blog post that the current Asking Alexandria is not the same band that wrote The Irony of Your Perfection, in style nor members, hence they are two different bands, despite their links. The same statement has been emphasised in interviews and is known to still be a confusion to many fans.
Asking Alexandria, since their formation in 2008, has had some member changes, including going from a six-piece to a five-piece, with the departure of synthesist Ryan Binns. The last known change was bassist Sam Bettley, who replaced Joe Lancaster in January 2009.Lancaster played his final show at Fibbers in their hometown York on 4 January. The band left for the United States the day after the show to promote their music through shows, as well as to prepare for the recording of their debut album.
After spending 2008 and the first months of 2009 touring, the band recorded their debut studio album between 19 May and 16 June 2009 at The Foundation Recording Studios in Connersville, Indiana, United States with producer Joey Sturgis. They announced their signing with Sumerian Records shortly after finishing the recording and released their debut album, Stand Up and Scream, on 15 September 2009 through their new label. The band spent 2009 focusing on gaining success in the United States, touring with well known bands such as Alesana, Enter Shikari, The Bled and Evergreen Terrace, amongst others
Reckless & Relentless (2010–2011)
On 22 December 2009, Asking Alexandria announced that they were to start the works on a second album in January. They informed that they were to be streaming parts of the writing process through a web cam feed via the service Stickam. It was also announced that they will be entering the studio on 1 September, again with producer Joey Sturgis. Then they later announced that they will be able to get into the studio 22 June 2010 on their official Twitter. The band has later confirmed through an interview with Shred News that the album is scheduled for release in early 2011 and is planned to contain 12 new songs. In the same interview, the band informed that a title was not yet established. In a later interview they stated that the album will probably be able to pre order in November 2010, and available in early 2011. One song, "Breathless" has been played live already and can be found on YouTube. Danny has also released lyrics from the new album onto his Twitter account, although he did not state what songs they were from.
In March, Asking Alexandria are heading out on their first tour of the new year, yet again making their way through North America, this time with Attack Attack!, Breathe Carolina, label mates I See Stars, and the up-and-coming British metalcore act Bury Tomorrow. The tour carries through to April, ending ten days before heading off for their debut European tour with Dance Gavin Dance and In Fear and Faith, which includes an appearance at the annual Groezrock festival. They are however scheduled to discontinue the European tour two days before it originally ends to make an appearance at The Bamboozle festival in New Jersey.
Asking Alexandria announced their first ever headlining tour on 2 March 2010, taking place in North America through May to the start of June. We Came as Romans, From First to Last, Our Last Night and A Bullet for Pretty Boy were announced as supporting bands for the tour. Bruce has also confirmed through an interview with Inside Heavy that the band will be making an appearance at the Thrash and Burn summer festival tour as a main support act, though not revealing details on which other bands that will be participating. It was later revealed that Asking Alexandria would co-headline the Thrash and Burn Tour 2010 alongside Born of Osiris.
Asking Alexandria has since then embarked on The Thrash and Burn Tour performed a new song entitled "Breathless", which is featured on their then upcoming second studio album Reckless & Relentless. The band as well recorded a cover of "Right Now (Na Na Na)" by Akon which was released on Punk Goes Pop 3 in November 2010.
During a show in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on the Short But Sweet Tour that took place in early October, Asking Alexandria was asked about the release of their upcoming album and future music videos. Bruce responded with great detail about their plans. Reckless & Relentless will be available for pre-order in December and will be released in February. He also stated that in November 2010 they will be releasing a reissue of Stand Up and Scream, the reissue album is said to contain more of a "dubstep feel" to the content. Bruce also mentioned that it will contain a bonus DVD that will have a live music video of "If You Can't Ride Two Horses at Once... Then You Should Get Out of the Circus." They are also preparing a music video for "A Prophecy" that will be included on the bonus DVD if finished in time.
On 23 November 2010, Asking Alexandria added a new EP entitled Life Gone Wild for pre-order, set to be released on 21 December 2010.The EP contained the new song "Breathless", dubstep remixes of "A Single Moment of Sincerity" and "Not the American Average," two Skid Row covers of "18 and Life" and "Youth Gone Wild", and an unreleased demo version of "I Was Once, Possibly, Maybe, Perhaps a Cowboy King".
It has been announced that the reissue album of Stand Up and Scream, that was originally supposed to be released on 16 November then 21 December then 22 March has been pushed back to sometime in the summer of 2011 and will be titled Stepped Up and Scratched. It will be a completely remixed electro/dubstep version of their debut album including all the songs, new artwork, and new packaging. It has been announced at most UK tour shows in December that support for the UK April shows will come from Of Mice & Men and Chelsea Grin.
On 5 April 2011, Reckless & Relentless was released as planned. On 11 April 2011, the band made their national TV debut, while performing the songs "Someone, Somewhere", and "Closure" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
On 5 July 2011, the band released the music video for "Closure", the first single off Reckless & Relentless, directed by Thunder Down Country. On 15 July 2011, the band released a music video for the second single "To the Stage", directed by Frankie Nasso. On 4 September 2011, vocalist Danny Worsnop has announced in a video on his personal YouTube channel that he will be recording a solo album in the near future, with the album being more of a rock record, rather than Asking Alexandria's heavy metal style. He released a preview of a new solo song he recorded, entitled "Photograph.Asking Alexandria released the music video for Not The American Average on VIA Facebook on 10/17/11 which was a song on their debut album Stand Up And Scream. " Wall Of Death Asking Alexandria"
Sabtu, 16 Februari 2013
We are a small band who have not been at all on stage. Age band we're almost close to 1 year. Our start up, we are very optimistic that we can succeed. When first we practice yet compact, yet quite understand what it is music. after nearly 5 months of our practice, we found the rhythm in their respective personnel. Thank God we have the current compact. Our band is oriented to A Skylit Drive, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, For Revenge. May 1 later, the band's high age of 1 year, a lot of hope that we want to achieve, Up stage, playing with the band famous, and could go international. All of it is not an easy thing, all the needed process. We hope we can achieve our dreams all.
Moshing, also known early on as "slamdancing", is a style of dance whose participants push or slam into each other, usually while moving in circle. It is most associated with "aggressive" music genres, such as hardcore punk, rock and heavy metal. It is primarily done to live music, although it can be done to recorded music.
Variations of moshing exist, and can be done alone as well as in groups. Moshing usually happens in a "pit" (sometimes called a mosh pit or "circle pit") and is intended to be energetic not hurtful. Offshoots are "pogoing" (mostly jumping up and down) and the more extreme wall of death, and are typically done in an area in the center of the crowd, generally closer to the stage.
While moshing is seen as a form of positive feedback or expression of enjoyment, it has also drawn criticism over dangerous excesses occurring in offshoots. Injuries have been reported in mosh pits, and a few deaths have occurred in a "Wall of Death" an offshoot that developed when slamdancing was adopted at metal shows from its origin at punk shows. However, it is generally agreed that moshers are not trying to harm one another, and that they follow an unwritten "moshing etiquette".
The term mosh came into use in the early 1980s American hardcore punk scene in Washington, D.C. Early on, the dance was frequently spelled mash in fanzines and record liner notes, but pronounced mosh, as in the 1982 song "Total Mash" by the D.C.-based hardcore band Scream. H.R. of the band Bad Brains, regarded as a band that "put moshing on the map, used the term mash in lyrics and in concert stage banter to both incite and to describe the aggressive and often violent dancing of the scene. To "mash it up" was to go wild with the frenzy of the music. Due to his Jamaican-accented pronunciation of the word, fans heard this as mosh instead. By the mid-1980s, the term was appearing in print with its current spelling. By the time thrash metal band Anthrax used the term in their song "Caught in a Mosh", the word was already a mainstay of hardcore and thrash scenes. Fans of Billy Milano and the band Stormtroopers of Death have often used the term mosh as an acronym for the phrase "move over shit head" during crowded shows. Through the mainstream success of bands like Anthrax, Nirvana, Stormtroopers of Death, and The Melvins, the term came into the popular vernacular.
And I like this pict ! Lol so funny
Of Mice & Men is an American metalcore band from Costa Mesa, California. The group was founded by Austin Carlile and Jaxin Hall during mid-2009 after Carlile's departure from Attack Attack!. The name of the band is derived from John Steinbeck's novel of the same title.
Formation and debut album (2009–2010)
Of Mice & Men was founded by Austin Carlile, the original vocalist of Attack Attack!, and bassist Jaxin Hall, an import from Auckland, New Zealand during 2009 in Columbus, Ohio. The two recorded their demo "Seven Thousand Miles for What?" with the band Though She Wrote at Paper Tiger Studios in Columbus. Carlile and Hall searched for other members for about a month. They came across Valentino Arteaga, drummer of Lower Definition, Jon Kintz of Odd Project, and Phil Manansala, a touring guitarist for A Static Lullaby. Carlile and Hall moved to Southern California to join up with the three. A little while later, Kintz was cut from the band and replaced with Shayley Bourget. With a question at hand asking of the departure of Kintz in a Q&A for the group, Bourget jokingly stated "Jon didn't cut it." On Kintz's part, he reportedly cited that the band felt he was "partying too much. After reaching 1,000,000 plays from their Myspace profile in just two months since its launch, the band uploaded a cover of Lady Gaga's song, "Poker Face". The song was mastered by Tom Denney, formerly of A Day to Remember and a copy of the demo was sent directly to Rise Records. Recognizing the band as Carlile's new musical project, Of Mice & Men was signed to the label. The group then traveled to the Foundation Studios in Connersville, Indiana on July 14, 2009, with Joey Sturgis to record their self-titled debut album.
On December 6, 2009 they had two video shoots in Ventura, California for "Those in Glass Houses" and "Second & Sebring". The band released their debut album on March 9, 2010 even though they planned on releasing it earlier. The album was originally intended to be released on February 23, however it was forced into a delay just days before its release, but leaked on February 10, 2010 by fans that hacked into the system. The music video for "Second & Sebring" was released on Hot Topic's website and made its television premiere on Headbangers Ball on March 15, 2010. The band quickly jumped on the Squash The Beef Tour supporting Dance Gavin Dance, along with Emarosa, Tides of Man, and Of Machines. Also in 2009, Of Mice & Men was support on the Atticus Tour along with Finch, Blessthefall, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, Vanna, and Let's Get It. After completion of the Atticus Tour, the band supported I See Stars on the Leave It To The Suits Tour with We Came as Romans, Broadway, and Covendetta.
Of Mice & Men are known for their unique interpretation of the post-hardcore and metalcore style, using plenty of breakdowns and screaming along with clean vocals. Their newest single - "The Depths" from The Flood re-issue shows a clear "djent" style influence. Austin Carlile is known for his skill with his extremely unique fry-vocal scream often utilizing overtones and creating a scream of higher pitch and surprising volume. He is also known for his breath control evident in their song "This One's For You" where he projects a constant vocal for 15 seconds often longer at live venues.
New Album (2012–present)
On April 2, 2012 during an interview with Alternative Press Austin Carlile stated that the band sound on their upcoming album will be "... more rock, or I guess a nu-metal sound you could say.", Carlile went on to say that "...our newer stuff is a lot more structured. When I think of nu-metal, I think of Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and even Chevelle—those types of bands. The songs are a lot more structured and they’re a lot deeper and the tunings are even lower. I kind of wanted to touch on that and have our songs to have more of a rock and roll feel. Just in your face, angsty, here-it-is rock and roll. And that’s what I think of when I think of nu-metal: structured, heavy music that has a point. It’s angry just like all the other music, but the bigger parts are bigger and the powerful parts are more powerful and the slow parts slower.
On December 4, 2012 the band revealed via Facebook that they are currently writing and demoing material for their next album. The band had the following to say: "In case some of you don't already know, we are currently home from tour for the remainder of 2012 and are now back in our studio working on our brand new album! YES! An entire album of all brand new material is being written and demoed RIGHT NOW! We will be updating our Facebook more and more in this process and reaching out to YOU guys, our amazing fans from all over the world, to make this album really something special!! Make sure you spread the word, share our posts, keep the likes/comments coming and keep checking back with us cause you never know when we could throw some new material your way.
It's been confirmed that the band will be recording with Joey Sturgis again.

Bring Me The Horizon
Sempiternal is the upcoming fourth studio album by British metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon. It is planned to be released on April 29, 2013 through the Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary label, RCA. Written and recorded throughout 2012, Sempiternal showed the band pool diverse influences from electronic music, ambient music and pop. "Sempiternal" is an archaic English word denoting the concept of "everlasting time" that can never actually come to pass.It stems from the Latin root word "Sempiternal". The album's cover art is a depiction of the Flower of Life. This will be the last album to feature rhythm guitarist Jona Weinhofen, who left shortly after recording finished in January 2013, and the first album to feature keyboardist Jordan Fish.
In 2011, Bring Me the Horizon were finishing up the tour that was held in support of the band's previous album There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let's Keep It a Secret. Afterward, they had intentions to issue a remix extended play consisting of electronica remixes of tracks off the album, all done by British electronic producer Draper, aiming for a tentative January 2012 release. However, because of the band's situation with their then-label Visible Noise, it was cancelled.Later that year, in July, it was announced that the band would be releasing their fourth album on RCA Records.Although the band's split from Visible Noise wasn't strictly aggressive, the band wanted to join a major record label due the lack of resources and support an independent label could offer during the album's development and promotion.RCA Records have given Bring Me the Horizon lengthy support since their signing, the label introduces their signing of Bring Me the Horizon with the statement "signing you is as important as signing Metallica".
Despite Sykes doubts with joining a major record label in terms of the bands musical output, believing they would try to convince Bring Me the Horizon to release something more radio friendly, instead RCA and Sony have pushed the band to "write the heaviest album they can. Although instead of going for a heavier sound, Bring Me the Horizon pooled more diverse influences in preparation for the writing of Sempiternal. During the development of the album Sykes said he, along side Jordan Fish were inspired by all the music they heard throughout their daily life and thought about how it applied to their style. Taking influence from hip hop, reggae, pop, dance and both the soundscapes and "weird pianos" from film soundtracks.
Describing the album as blending pieces of their previous three albums and then creating "a whole new sound" Sykes summarises the album as having a "massively" influenced by various electronic music genres. He also commented on how the album would explore similar territory as their third album 'There Is a Hell'. This was due to the fact that the ground covered by the album gave room for further experimentation.Sykes also sees the album as possessing a very euphoric "happy sad" feeling and this is shown where one of the tracks on the album surfaced to sound like the soundtrack to the end of the world.
Release and promotion
On 5 November 2012 the band announced that they had hosted a website domain for the album 'sempiternal.info' in which they release an audio clip of 'Shadow Moses' The website also displays an artistic video which eventually forms a symbol (the Flower of Life) which will most likely be part of the album's cover art. On 9 November the band played a free gig in their home town of Sheffield before co-headlining the UK Warped Tour Festival in London with Lostprophets. The first single from the album, "Shadow Moses", debuted on Daniel P. Carter's Rock Show on BBC Radio 1 on January 4, 2013. "Shadow Moses" was officially released as a single on iTunes on January 14, 2013, reaching #82 in the Official UK Singles Chart, their first top 100 entry..
On January 14, 2013, an "Album Teaser" video was released on Bring Me the Horizon's VEVO account. At the end of this video it is revealed that the album is scheduled to be released on April 29, 2013. All formats/editions of the album can be pre-ordered. Several different packages are available, with some including a t-shirt.
